my definition a WEED is worry experienced
every day. Real weeds
are found in almost any place there is land and they
multiply very quickly. There are many similarities between
real weeds and the WEEDs that grow in our minds. Webster
says a weed by definition is a valueless plant growing
wild, esp. one that grows on cultivated ground to the
exclusion or injury of the desired crop. A more fitting
definition is a wild thought that forces out good thoughts
and reproduces quickly if left unattended.
WARNING!
-The WACM method is not recommended for the removal
of WEEDs.
W-Worry:
to fret or torment one-self with or suffer from disturbing
thoughts.
A-Anxiety:
distress of mind caused by dread or fear of coming evil.
C-Control:
to exercise restraint or direction over, dominate, command.
M-Manipulation:
to adapt or change to suit one’s purpose or advantage
The
WACM method only gives the impression of WEED removal
by removing the top of the WEED leaving the base roots
of the weed to re-grow and spread rapidly once it goes
to seed.
The
best way to handle WEEDS is to remove them. The following
directions are recommended:
1.
Capture the thought and give it an examination to see
if it is a weed. If it is throw it away. 2 Cor. 10:5
“We demolish arguments and every pretension that
sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we
take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”
2.
Cover Crop; Plant a cover crop on the cultivated ground
(your mind). The cover crop should be something that
is productive or has value to cover where the weeds
would grow. Phil 4:8 “Finally, brothers, whatever
is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever
is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable --if
anything is excellent or praiseworthy --think about
such things.”
