Making It Last
In
this section are some verses to help you defeat your
fears. Please print them out and highlight the verses
in your Bible that are most meaningful to you. Pray
the verses back to the Lord. When I pray Scripture,
I read the verse and then discuss the verse with the
Lord. For example, when I pray Deuteronomy 31:6, I
read the verse: "’Be strong and courageous.
Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for
the Lord your God goes with you. He will never leave
you nor forsake you.’ Continuing in prayer,
“Lord, you call me to be strong and courageous
and I know you won't ask me to do anything I can't
do through Your enabling. I am so thankful you don't
want me to be afraid. So thankful that you go with
me wherever I go and that you will always be with
me and never fail me. Lord, in my present situation,
please give me Your strength and courage as I remember
and enjoy Your presence in my life. You are my Rock
and Strong Tower. In Your holy and strong name, Amen."
Read
the following verses in preparation for life's trials,
and reread them when worries and fears threaten to
rob you of the joy and peace of the Lord. Let the
Scriptures replace your fears with the truth that
the Lord will care for your greatest needs. Keep a
journal of God’s faithful care to stay attentive
to His provisions in meeting your needs. Remember
that just as God has been faithful in the past, He
will also be faithful in the future. Choose to thank
and worship Him as His unfailing love removes your
fear and replaces it with His peace and joy.
Verses
to Meditate on to Turn Fear Into Worship:
Deuteronomy
31:6, Be strong and courageous. Do not be
afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD
your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor
forsake you."
Ephesians
6:10-11, Finally, be strong in the Lord and
in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God
so that you can take your stand against the devil's
schemes.
Joshua
1:9, Have I not commanded you? Be strong
and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged,
for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you
go."
Jeremiah
31:3, The LORD appeared to us in the past,
saying:
"I have loved you with an everlasting love;
I have drawn you with loving-kindness.
Psalm
27:1-3
The LORD is my light and my salvation — whom
shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life — of whom
shall I be afraid?
When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh,
when my enemies and my foes attack me, they will stumble
and fall.
Though
an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though
war break out against me, even then will I be confident.
Psalm
34:4, I sought the LORD, and he answered
me; he delivered me from all my fears.
Psalm
46:2-3, Therefore we will not fear, though
the earth give way and the mountains fall into the
heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.
Psalm
118:6-9
The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can
man do to me?
The LORD is with me; he is my helper. I will look
in triumph on my enemies.
It
is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust
in man.
It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust
in princes.
Palms
145:18-20, The LORD is near to all who call
on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills
the desires of those who fear him; he hears their
cry and saves them. The LORD watches over all who
love him, but all the wicked he will destroy.
Proverbs
3:25-26, Have no fear of sudden disaster
or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the
LORD will be your confidence and will keep your foot
from being snared.
Isaiah
35:4, “Say to those with fearful hearts,
"Be strong, do not fear; your God will come,he
will come with vengeance; with divine retribution.
He will come to save you."
Isaiah
41:10, So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.I will strengthen
you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous
right hand.
Zephaniah
3:17, The LORD your God is with you, he is
mighty to save. He will take great delight in you,
he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over
you with singing."
Matthew
28:20, And surely I am with you always, to
the very end of the age.
Luke 12:22, Then Jesus said to his
disciples: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry
about your life, what you will eat; or about your
body, what you will wear.
John
14:27, Peace I leave with you; my peace I
give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
Romans
8:28-31, And we know that in all things God
works for the good of those who love him, who have
been called according to his purpose. For those God
foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the
likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn
among many brothers. And those he predestined, he
also called; those he called, he also justified; those
he justified, he also glorified.
What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God
is for us, who can be against us?
Romans
8:35-39, Who shall separate us from the love
of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution
or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it
is written: "For your sake we face death all
day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors
through him who loved us. For I am convinced that
neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,
neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,
neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all
creation, will be able to separate us from the love
of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Timothy 1:7, For
God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit
of power, of love and of self-discipline.
1
John 4:16-18, And so we know and rely on
the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives
in love lives in God, and God in him. In this way,
love is made complete among us so that we will have
confidence on the day of judgment, because in this
world we are like him. There is no fear in love. But
perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to
do with punishment. The one who fears is not made
perfect in love.
